‘Peach Brandy’ is one of Bob Solberg’s introductions from the same breeding work that produced several of his striking yellow, red-petioled hostas. Its pedigree is a complex one, with both parents tracing through multiple crosses involving ‘Smiley Face’, ‘Beet Salad’, ‘Peacock Strut’, ‘Sun Shower’ and ‘Designer Genes’.
 
What makes ‘Peach Brandy’ particularly interesting is how successfully it displays the red-petiole trait. The purple doesn't stop at the base of the leaf. It travels upward into the foliage, creating a visible connection between the petiole and leaf that gives the plant its distinctive look.
